PillowTalk: Legacy Unboxed: Five Decades of Dancing, Scandals, and Passing It On
56:04
What does it mean to share an artistic legacy? Five visionary choreographers—Liz Lerman, Joanna Haigood, Eiko Otake, Merián Soto, and Jawole Willa Jo Zollar—are reimagining how artists pass their life’s work forward. How can we shift the way the world talks about dance in the archival process, making it more readily available to those who seek it? What happens when five artists with vastly different practices come together to tackle the challenge of legacy and preservation, rather than navigating it alone? And most importantly—how do we take action? This PillowTalk took place on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in the Perles Family Studio. Legacy Unboxed is supported by funding from the Mellon Foundation. Additional support has been provided by Jacob's Pillow as a lead partner and fiscal sponsor.
