PillowTalk: Akram Khan Company
37:44
Joined by some of Khan’s collaborators and company members, this PillowTalk moderated by Maura Keefe celebrates the company’s legacy on its last U.S. tour. Inspired by Akram Khan’s early training in the Indian classical dance form kathak and the hybrid language that organically emerged when Khan’s kathak training encountered contemporary dance in his teens, a vision began to form, leading him to establish one of the world’s most innovative dance companies. Through the voices of Khan’s collaborators, this PillowTalk considers Khan’s artistic influences and the lasting impact the company has left on the dance world. This talk took place on July 11, 2026 in Blake’s Barn at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Video by Nel Shelby Productions.
